Cadillac Converj, Ready for production
Hybrid Coupe from GM, The brand has had some issues of late but this Hybrid Cadillac Converj is a hopeful addition and a marketing trinket to get that brand noticed yet again.
On the top end of the scale the US $70,000 Escalade hybrid is something even Tiger Woods would like. This hybrid unit is selling about 160 units a month and that is not a bad thing..
Style and the name for both of these units is a good marketing outlet for GM.
Subaru confirms Impreza XV crossover debut for Geneva

The big premiere for Subaru at next month’s Geneva Motor Show will be the new Impreza VX. The all-wheel-drive specialist hasn’t yet provided any images of the car, but judging from the description in the press release, it sounds as if this Europe-only model is pretty much the Outback Sport we get here.
A unique grille, wheel arches and roof rails visually set the VX apart from standard Imprezas. Propulsion comes via a choice of 2.0-liter boxer-fours, fueled by either gasoline or diesel. The Impreza VX goes on sale in Europe this summer.
Joining the Impreza VX on the stand will be the Hybrid Tourer Concept that we first saw at Tokyo last fall, as well as the plug-in Stella. The press release is after the jump.

Billion dollar state budget losses: The cost of fuel efficiency

In just 15 years Washington State could experience a $3.8 billion state budget shortfall because of a decline in gas tax revenues due to hybrid and electric vehicle adoption according to a new report. That means $3.8 billion less to pay for highway projects and to maintain infrastructure, and that’s just one state.
Many other states, as well as the federal government, could experience similar shortfalls.
So, how will states and the feds make up this revenue? Higher gas taxes? M&S tax on all plug-in vehicles?
At some point, despite their foreign-oil and environmental friendliness, won’t plug-in vehicles have to pay their fair share of costs for highways and infrastructure maintenance? Read more…
