Multiple Ferrari F12 Berlinetta’s Attack Maranello

Behold the magnificence of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. And not just one F12, but a couple of them! Apparently it was an F12 day in Maranello when this video was shot, as you get to see lots of them running around the streets and also at the Fiorano race track. It is quite an awesome sight see a convoy of F12′s rolling together, partly because of the great looks of this car, and partly because of the fantastic soundtrack.
As the replacement for the 599, Ferrari F12 uses a V12 engine with a staggering 740 horsepower and 690 Nm of torque. This colossal sum of power results in a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of slightly over 3 seconds, and a top speed of 340 km/h.
The F12 also looks about 110 percent better than the 599, It’s very nice and chiseled, and while the 599 had the look of a simpleton on its face, the F12 looks like some sort of vicious snake!

2013 BMW 3-series Sports Wagon First Drive: Hey There, We’re Glad You’re Back
When BMW swapped in the chubby 5-series GT for the 5-series wagon in its U.S. lineup, aficionados of the 3-series wagon (including us) began fretting that their beloved carryall would be yanked from our market, too. Fortunately, the 5 GT has failed to move the needle at all with traditional wagon buyers, and BMW didn’t want to completely abandon its slice of annual station-wagon sales in America. (About 10,000 to 15,000 units per year.) So it lives. Hallelujah.
The new Touring, as the Germans call it when they’re not using its F31 internal code, adopts all of the changes from the new F30 3-series sedan. (It’s sold here as the 3-series Sports Wagon.) Despite what we’d previously been told, the only model making the transatlantic trip will be the 328i, motivated by BMW’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four coupled exclusively to an excellent eight-speed ZF automatic. (That means no 300-hp 335i, no diesel, and no manual.) Buyers again will have the ability to choose between rear- or all-wheel drive.
Wagon a More Roomy Tail
Following the example of the F30 sedan, the new wagon is longer than the last model; the stretch here is 3.4 inches, two of which have been added to the wheelbase. The extra length adds 0.7 inch of rear kneeroom and bumps luggage capacity with the rear seats folded by 4.0 cubic feet to 64.9.
The liftover height into the cargo area is lower than on the preceding car, while the liftgate opening is several inches wider for easier loading. The hatch is now power operated and the rear window once again can be opened independently of the sheetmetal. BMW also offers the hands-free ability to open the hatch by waving your foot under the bumper, provided the proximity key is with you—it’s a feature we’ve seen on European Passat wagons and the latest Ford Escape.
Record-Setting Electric Airplane Breaks 200-MPH Barrier for First Time

Electric vehicle pioneer Chip Yates is now the first person to ever fly an electric aircraft faster than 200 miles per hour. Yates made the flight today in his Long-ESA, a modified Long-EZ he is using as a development platform for his new electric aircraft systems he plans to fly across the Atlantic.
Yates already holds the world record for the fastest electric motorcycle after topping 196 mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats last year. He recently turned his attention to the skies and his first electric flight took place yesterday.
Today’s record-setting flight hit 202.6 mph in level flight, according to Yates, breaking the previous record of 175 mph held by the tiny electric Cri-Cri. Today’s record-breaking flight wasn’t without drama, after Yates was forced to make a dead-stick landing when “a dead cell killed propulsion following the record run.”
After the flight Yates said there is more speed available with the current setup and the team is replacing the batteries, hinting at another top-speed run soon.
Yesterday’s flight of the electric Long-ESA lasted 16 minutes and was Yates’ first time flying an electric airplane. The Long-EZ that his aircraft is based on is a well-established design from Burt Rutan that already holds many speed and endurance records thanks to its efficient design. The airplane commonly cruises over 200 mph using normal gasoline-powered aircraft engines.

Honda CR-V: UK-spec SUV previews Australian model
The upcoming fourth-generation Honda CR-V has been revealed in its British-built European specification, giving Australians a glimpse at what our Thailand-built version should look like when it arrives here in November.
For the first time in Australia, the all-new Honda CR-V will be available in two-wheel drive as well as four-wheel drive, with the entry-level models to feature an entry-level 2.0 i-VTEC petrol engine. The engine is already available in European versions of the outgoing CR-V, but has been comprehensively revised for enhanced fuel efficiency and lower emissions for the new model.

Power from the 2.0-litre petrol has risen from 110kW to 114kW while torque is been up 2Nm to 192Nm. CO2 emissions have fallen from 192 grams per kilometre to 174g/km for the six-speed manual transmission variant, and from 195g/km to 176g/km for those equipped with Honda’s five-speed automatic transmission. Two-wheel drive variants will see even greater improvements with emissions dipping to 170g/km.
The larger 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine will continue to be offered in the local line-up, potentially upgraded to match the output of the US-spec CR-V’s powerplant, which produces 138kW and 221Nm.
Honda Australia will also add a diesel engine to the new CR-V line-up for the first time, with the third engine option expected to join the range in 2013.

BMW Super Bild Of The Day: Turbocharged E36 M3
Hurricane Katrina was the deadliest and most destructive Atlantic hurricane of the 2005 Atlantic hurricane season. It is the costliest natural disaster, as well as one of the five deadliest hurricanes in the history of the United States. The storm weakened before making its second landfall as a Category 3 storm on the morning of Monday, August 29 in southeast Louisiana. But the destruction spread throughout the Gulf of Mexico and was responsible for damage from Florida to Texas.
It’s the personal stories of devastation that move our compassion to feel for those affected by such tragedy. Especially for those that are car fanatics. One particular case of personal loss was David A, a member of the Florida Car Club forums. Not only was his home completely lifted off its foundations; it was a gorgeous home too, but his prized E36 Turbocharged M3 Coupe was lifted by the powerful winds and mercilessly deposited into a shallow lake nearby, completely ruining the car.

Here’s hoping David was at least able to salvage the engine and some of the performance equipment to hopefully be able to transplant them in to another E36, they make excellent track cars when they’re pumping out 400+bhp.

2013 SRT Viper earns its stripes

So far, every time I’ve encountered the 2013 SRT Viper, it has been sitting their in a shiny new red color. However, I always thought to myself that a Viper isn’t fun to look at until their are some stripes on there – in fact – to me it just makes the car a little awkward without stripes.
Well, Chrysler and SRT were nice enough to post a picture (just one) of the SRT Viper with white stripes running down the center and we thought we’d share it with you.
Check out more news on the SRT Viper.
Refresher: Power for the 2013 SRT Viper comes from an all-aluminum, mid-engine 8.4-liter V10 that makes 640 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual transmission with a shorter throw shifter, closer gear ratios and a final drive ratio that has been shortened to 3.55 from 3.07.

Custom shop in India converts Tata Safari into Moon Rover Evoque

We’ve seen Chinese company’s imitate many German vehicles and then get sued by the automaker for copying their design. But what we have here today isn’t a mass-produced knock-off – it’s simply a Tata Safari SUV transformed into something called the Moon Rover Evoque by an Indian custom shop called BigDaddyCustoms.
Check out the Top 10 things you need to know about the Range Rover Evoque.
The New Delhi-based custom shop took a Tata Safari (which resembles a very old Nissan Pathfinder) and gave it a full exterior and interior makeover. In my opinion they did a great job even though the outcome looks just a little awkward.
On a side note, it’s a bit coincidental that Tata Motors own Land Rover.
