2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Spied: The Next Four-Door Conti Masquerading as an S-class
What It Is: A 2014 Bentley Continental Flying Spur—the four-door sibling of the Continental GT coupe and GTC convertible—caught while testing wearing fake Mercedes S-class camouflage. A lot of spy photos come through our email inboxes, but few prove as entertaining as these shots of the next Flying Spur. Not only did Bentley stick on some pseudo-Benz head- and taillights, but it went so far as to affix bulging fender flares similar to those on the current S-class. Looking past this Bentley’s drag, it’s clear that the Flying Spur will inherit the same basic stylistic upgrades that hit the 2011 Continental GT and 2012 GTC.
Why It Matters: Bentley’s entry-level sedan has been on sale in the same form since 2005—that’s quite the product cycle. It’s an especially long lifespan when you consider the stratospheric sandbox in which the Flying Spur competes; rich or poor, people tend to crave the latest and greatest, and that counts double when customers need to shell out nearly $ 200,000. Mix in the competition that appeared since the Spur first went on sale—the Rolls-Royce Ghost (which beat the Flying Spur Speed in a comparison test), the Aston Martin Rapide, and the upcoming Pullman version of the next Mercedes-Benz S-class—and a freshened Flying Spur becomes even more important for Bentley.
Platform: Just as the latest Continental GT and GTC sit on a carry-over platform, so too will this new Flying Spur. That said, the four-door should get entirely new sheetmetal; it may not be obviously different—changes to the other Continentals weren’t terribly easy to spot—but it should subtly bring the sedan in line with its two-door siblings, as well as the larger Mulsanne.

Honestly, I thought these sessions would be more focused on showing the Focus ST taking on these cars in a head-to-head hardcore battle but instead it seems like the clip is just some B-Roll footage.

EVO Drive Review: MINI Paceman Prototype
Selected journalists had the opportunity to drive a prototype of MINI’s latest model, the Paceman. Labeled as a crossover with two doors and a more dynamic stance, the Paceman shares the same front fascia, grille, headlights and hood with the Countryman.
Just like the MINI Countryman being built in Graz, Austria, the Paceman will be joining the production lines at Magna Steyr as well. Dr. Klaus Draeger confirmed in the past that production of Paceman will begin in late 2012 with first units arriving at dealerships in 2013.
The prototype still features some kind of a camouflage at the rear end, but nonetheless we are most interested in the driving experience anyway. Here is a quick excerpt from EVO magazine:
Chevy Infographics Details 2013 Spark
Chevrolet Spark is going on sale across America after selling 600,000 units all around the world from Europe to Middle East, and from Korea to Australia. So to let the American people know what’s the deal about this mini car, and also to brag about its accomplishments, Chevy released a handy infographics that does a good job summarizing all the important details, facts and figures.
One of the interesting tidbits you will find in this piece of information graphic is some facts Spark’s popularity by country. For instance, Spark is the best-selling Chevy vehicle in India and pink is the preferred color in Korea, while in Africa, customers favorite color choices are red, cocktail green and atomic blue. In Europe, the Spark is most popular in Italy, and it represents 40 percent of all General Motors vehicle sales in Lebanon.
For the American market, the Spark is re-engineered to add technology and safety features as well as better ride and handling in city and highway driving.

Volkswagen Polo production starts at new Chinese plant
Volkswagen Group has celebrated the completion of construction of its new Yizheng plant in China with the production of its first vehicle.
The Yizheng plant in Eastern China, designed for an annual production capacity of 300,000 vehicles, will be Shanghai Volkswagen’s second plant to produce the Volkswagen Polo in China.
The new production site, that covers approximately 1.3 million square meters, includes press, body and paint shops, a final assembly unit and a technical testing centre as well as a training academy and an energy centre. Volkswagen says the plant will create about 3700 new jobs for the region.
The new plant also sets high environmental standards becoming one of the Volkswagen Group’s most environmentally compatible plants. Advanced production processes, geothermal energy to heat and cool the factory halls and solar panels to recharge transfer trucks and employees’ e-bikes combine as part of the company’s goal of making its worldwide production 25 per cent more environmentally compatible by 2018.
Volkswagen announced plans to construct the plant back in July of 2010 with an intended opening date sometime in 2013, but a construction period of only two years resulted in the new facility being operational earlier. The plant is also planned to produce models from the Volkswagen-owned Skoda brand in the future.
