2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI Coupe Pricing Announced

Volkswagen has announced pricing specifics for its 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDI, the only clean diesel automobile in the compact coupe category.

When it goes on sale in August, the Beetle TDI will retail for $ 23,295 in manual transmission form. With a 6-speed DSG twin-clutch automated, you are going to spend $ 1,one hundred additional. All prices exclude a destination charge of $ 770.

The diesel Beetle joins the existing 2.five-liter normally-aspirated and 2.-liter turbocharged gasoline models, but purchasers will get to benefit from the extra fuel efficiency that VW TDIs are renowned for.

No EPA figure has however been confirmed, but Volkswagen predicts figures of 41 mpg highway and 32 mpg city with the six-speed manual. That would make it 2 mpg greater than the Golf TDI in the city, but 1 mpg worse on the highway–no doubt owing to the less aerodynamic retro shape.

The 2.-liter turbodiesel creates the exact same 140 horsepower and 236 pounds-feet of torque, and all designs come with 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM Satellite Radio and eight speakers. Sunroofs, touch-display techniques and a Fender Premium Audio technique are available on higher-spec designs.
