Porsche Macan Rendering Porsche Macan To Get Twin Turbo V6 Engine

British magazine Autocar has new details – and a rendering – about Porsche’s new infant SUV, called the Macan. According to their insiders, Porsche is establishing a brand-new three. liter twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine exclusively for the Macan, with targeted energy and torque figures of 370bhp and 400lb ft. The twin sequential Borg Warner turbochargers will also make the engine quite fuel efficient.

The new engine is a variant of the 3.six liter V6 unit located in the entry-degree petrol versions of the Cayenne and the Panamera. In the Macan, it will send the electrical power to all 4 wheels through a Torsen torque-sensing differential designed by Audi and tweaked by Porsche. The diff is linked to either a seven-speed manual or a PDK.

The Macan will also feature some fancy new suspension elastokinematics, no matter what they are, and electro-mechanical steering method like that utilized in the new Boxster and the 991. This method is far more fuel effective simply because it’s not linked to the engine, but it suffers from lack of really feel at high speed.
