2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition brings out the patriot in us
Paying tribute to the U.S. military, Jeep has launched a new special edition model called the Wrangler Freedom Edition. The model is available in red, white or blue and features a military-inspired star decal on the hood and rear quarter panels, along with an Oscar Mike (military jargon for on the move) fender badge.
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom Edition is based on the Sport model and is available two-door or four-door configurations.
Prices for the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Freedom edition start at $ 28,165 for Wrangler two-door models and $ 30,670 for Wrangler Unlimited four-door models. Jeep says it will donate $ 250 from each special-edition model sold to charities to benefit the U.S. military members.

Jeep Bringing Six Hopped-Up, Mopar-Built Vehicles to Annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari
In an annual tradition for the brand, Jeep is again planning to invade this year’s Easter Safari in Moab, Utah. As usual, Jeep isn’t content to merely have a brand presence or romp the off-road paradise in its standard fleet, instead hauling a handful of custom Mopar creations to the gathering. Jeep realizes that, more than any auto show, this event is its chance to literally get in the trenches with its core customer base. What better way to show off some of the Mopar accessories available for the Jeep range as well as some wicked one-off trucks that aren’t just there to look pretty? Each of these vehicles will be getting down and dirty on the trails with the rest of the Easter Jeeps, but Chrysler invited us out to preview them all nice and clean before the event begins on April 16.
Pork chop sandwiches! Okay, the name of this sweet little Wrangler refers to a different kind of pork chop, in which the Mopar folks set out to chop the pork, or extra weight, with the end goal being as light a Wrangler as possible, for a potent high-speed off-roader. Starting with a 3760-pound 2011 Wrangler Sport, Mopar tossed the doors, top, bumpers, tailgate, carpet, fenders, stock hood, and factory seats—among still more bits—in the Dumpster. The Wrangler then got Sparco seats and a custom roll cage, while the windshield was chopped two inches. Custom aluminum bumpers accent the new lightweight fender flares, which are already a Mopar item, and the hood is a unique aluminum and carbon-fiber piece.
The stock 3.8-liter V-6 was left alone, but now breathes better thanks to a cold-air intake, a set of Gale Banks long-tube headers, and a special dual exhaust that adds both motivational and auditory grunt.

Earlier in the month, Chrysler Group LLC released teasers of a selection of Moparized Jeep vehicles and a Mopar Ram Runner that it said were being produced for the upcoming Moab Easter Jeep Safari. Well, the Moab Easter Jeep Safari is here and all the Moparized Jeeps and Rams have been unveiled.
“The annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari provides us a perfect opportunity to interact with our most loyal fans in a true Jeep setting,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “We are able to demonstrate and test new potential Jeep production and customization ideas at our away-from-home proving ground, while getting instant feedback from our customers.”
