LDV V80 Review
The LDV V80 has been introduced to Australia as China’s biggest automotive company looks to take on the might of the Toyota HiAce and Hyundai iLoad in the commercial van market.
A division of the Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corporation (SAIC) that produced a whopping 4.5 million cars in 2012, the LDV commercial vehicle brand is distributed by White Motor Corporation (WMC) in Australia and is sold out of 30 dealers across the country.
LDV is short for Leyland DAF vans, a manufacturer with a long history that used to be based in England.
The company hit trouble in 2005 and was sold to a US equity firm and then to the Russian GAZ group, which pulled its funding in 2008. Despite hopes Volkswagen or a Malaysian investment firm would take over, LDV was wound up and the factory was closed.
SAIC bought the rights to the company in 2009 and now produces its sole product, the V80 van, in China.

Proton S16 Review
The Proton S16 FLX is the Malaysian manufacturer’s best-selling model in Australia, leaving showrooms at a rate of around 30 cars a month.
It was Australia’s cheapest car before the arrival of Chinese brand Chery with its J1 hatch, though the Proton S16 remains the most affordable sedan in the country.
Driveaway pricing for the most popular Proton starts at $ 13,990 for the GX manual variant – making for a standout sticker even in a competitive playing field that features eight other car manufacturers offering four-door city-size sedans.
We tested the S16 FLX entry-level GX with manual transmission and the range-topping GXR with CVT, which has a driveaway price of $ 16,990.
The S16 FLX facelift offers a number of style improvements over the previous version, including new front guards, bonnet, headlamps, grille, as well as front and rear bumpers, which are all more pronounced.
Video: 2011 Hyundai Accent 3D projection mapping stunt

Hyundai is ramping up the marketing of the 2011 Hyundai Accent around the world ahead of the vehicle’s Australian launch, which is expected to take place in September.
The latest stunt involved a new Hyundai Accent suspended in front of a city wall in Malaysia with a 3D projection mapping display occurring all around it.
Adding to the excitement, a driver scaled the wall Spiderman-style, jumped in and drove the car, spinning the wheels to match the scene.
The 3D projection mapping advertisement is similar to the Hot Wheels Secret Race Battle that took place last month on the façade of Sydney’s Customs House.
