Report: Honda Civic interior is least toxic, Mitsubishi Outlander is the worst
The fourth customer guidebook to toxic chemical substances in automobiles has just been released by the Ecology Center. Since Americans commit on typical 1.five hours in their automobiles every day, the exposure is looked at as a considerable contribution to indoor pollution.

A US-based consumer health researcher and product watchdog says the famous ‘new car smell’ is toxic, and has developed a list of the 10 most and least healthy vehicles based on the materials used in their interiors.
The study, conducted by non-profit group the Ecology Center and published on its HealthyStuff website, found more than 275 different chemicals in vehicle interiors, including some associated with cancer, birth defects, impaired learning and liver toxicity. Long-term exposure to small amounts of these pollutants can negatively impact health, and children are at greater risk of developing health problems from exposure.

Still rather sharp searching, the present Mitsubishi Outlander will be 7 years old this spring. That’s about average for an automotive daily life cycle, and it will come to a close when the organization introduces the third-generation Outlander at the 2012 Geneva car show. (Bear in mind that the Outlander is not the same as the smaller sized Outlander Sport, which was introduced for 2011.)
