2013 Subaru Legacy, Outback get facelifts and powertain upgrades

At the 2012 New York Car Show, Subaru will present up with the 2013 model year Legacy and Outback. Both models receive a slight facelift to the front and rear to keep fresh.
Let’s start off with the 2013 Subaru Legacy. The model will come in with two powertrain ranges which includes the Legacy two.5i and the Legacy 3.6R. Electrical power for the 2013 Legacy two.5i comes from a two.five liter boxer engine creating 173-hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices contain a six-speed manual or a CVT automatic latter is normal on the 2.5i Premium and Restricted. When mated to the CVT, the Legacy two.five averages 24/32 mpg (city/highway). The 2013 Subaru Legacy 3.6R is powered by a 3.6 liter six-cylinder boxer engine creating 256-hp.
Subaru says that the Legacy also gets some upgrades to its body construction, suspension and steering – providing it a smoother and quieter ride.
The 2013 Subaru Legacy two.5i will be available in in three trim ranges – base, Premium and Restricted – the Legacy 3.6R is offered in base and Restricted.
The 2013 Subaru Outback 2.5i designs will also be obtainable in three trim amounts – base, Premium and Restricted. Outback 3.6R models will be offered in base and Restricted. Powertrain options are the same as the 2013 Legacy. The 2013 Outback two.5i and 2.5i premium models offer a option between a regular 6-speed manual transmission and the 2nd-generation Lineartronic CVT the latter is common on 2.5i Limited models. Outback three.6R models continue with a5-speed electronically managed automatic transmission. Subaru estimates the CVT Outabck two.5i to regular 24/30 mpg.
